My mother taught me that if you don't have something nice to say... don't say anything at all.
Well, it looks like a lot of people live by that axiom.
Sadly, if people don't know when something's sub par they could come away with the impression that it's the norm. Junkarella is not the norm.
What starts as a clever idea never fully gets realized. The simple fact that it's possible to lose the plot in an adaptation of Cinderella should proof enough that there just wasn't the amount of work put into this production that there should have been.

I agree with the previous comment... perhaps the company was resting on the laurels of their previous productions (last year's especially which was stunning.) Perhaps a valuable lesson was learned this time around.

I agree with comment number one. I was really excited to attend this performance and was built up by the write up from past years. I walked away very dissapointed, feeling I had waisted my money. Being the first performance I attended at the Rogue festival, I almost went home but fortunatly, I did give others a chance and I'm hooked.
There was way to much time between scenes and talking which lost the audience. It was as if no one knew what they were doing and was trying to drag it out to fill time. Forgive my comments but I felt they needed to be said for the success of the whole festival.

Did someone say over-hyped? Biggest disappointment of all the events I attended.

Great premise....

Amatuerish execution.

Last minute cast changes can throw any performing company for a loop. Bottom line, this troupe of ambitious young people still have creativity on their side. I look forward to seeing them again next year.

I have to say last years performance was much better. A lot of the Cinderella story was hard to follow! What's with the worms? And was Cinderella traveling in a spaceship? Overall quite amateurish and incoherent in execution. Better luck next year!
