Wonderful show! As in full of wonder.(I wonder how they do that, I wonder if I can do that....etc.) Well worth the price of admission.

As a guy, the big attraction for me was choosing which hottie was my favorite.

As a show, this is pretty good! The traditional sword dance is really well done, and they've obviously rehearsed a lot to get in sequence.

The Return of Ishtar is by far the best belly dance show I have seen in a long time. The choreography was first rate, the costumes were very well done, and the individual dancers esquisite.

A must see show !!! 5 Thumbs up !!!!!

My daughter and I really enjoyed your performance. She has decided when she grows up to be a belly dancer. The show and the music were wonderful.

Especially given all the great things I had heard about this show, I'm afraid I was really disappointed in this - out of the nine Rogue shows I saw this year, this was my least favorite.

First, when entering the venue, the lights were very low, and it was difficult to find a seat. The lighting wasn't bright enough to read the program. I can appreciate wanting to start setting the tone and everything, but it would have been nice to see where I was going when I got there. There was plenty of time to set the tone with lighting once they started giving the Rogue spiel.

More directly regarding the show, this show was very slow at the beginning. It seemed like it took ten minutes just for them to enter the stage.

Overall, the dances got kind of old after a while, though a couple of the dancers did seem pretty good. It seemed like there was an over reliance on costuming. Costuming and dancing could have been more balanced.

I was really impressed with anything that involved someone balancing something on their heads, though!

paid for belly dance,it was not there!
this is performance art at best.
true middle eastern belly dance does not depend on degrees of nudity.
it is all about freestyle skill.
we walked out.
any middle eastern person, would have been highly offended

Belly dance is a celebration of creativity/fertility interpreted by a particular dancer's understanding of music, rhythm, and movement. Its purpose is to emotionally transport an audience so that it may participate in a creative act with the performer. The experience is intimate. The purpose of exotic dance is to sexually titillate an audience. Tanjora is able to do the former, but seemed to be doing the latter. Why? Belly dancing is for women (and men) of all ages and body types. Though few people become professionals, everyone can enjoy belly dancing and look good doing it. The presentation of dancers in "Ishtar" implied that only young women with good figures can do this kind of dance. If the audience is noticing costume and body instead of the dance, it is NOT belly dancing. So, don't call it that please. Otherwise, we may find ourselves unable to perform any kind of Middle Eastern dance at all here in the bible Belt. There were many good things about this show. I particularly liked the work of the troupe director, and her more experienced dancers could handle the costumes. There were good moments during every dancer's performance, but overall the show embarassed me. I want the old, wholesome, mostly-traditional-tribal Tanjora back, thank you.
