okay, as the eternal optomist, I didn't think I would like this show. But I have to admit: it was some good ranting!

It was mixed. That is the best I can do. Some liked it, some did not. Edgy, dull, insightful, boring, thought provoking, painful (that one made me laugh..sorry).

Apparently some folks came expecting one thing, found something different, and depending upon their personel "difference-tolerance-quotient" they stayed and were enlightened, or left and merely wandered around the The Tower aimlessly seeking redemption.

The monologue was too doom and gloom. It sounded like a George Carlin rant, just not as funny! The American Empire is doomed! So what else is new? You're preaching to the choir buddy! Duh! Why dwell on it? We need hope and redemption not just another crusty curmudgeon or miserable misanthrope bitching about everything under the sun. The Poet/Speaker seemed very amused by his own cleverness. It was like listening to a left-wing Dennis Miller. Smarmy metaphors, similes and cross references too strained to hit their mark.

It was nither George Carlin nor was it Dennis Miller. It was more like an unpollished Bill Hicks. With time I think that "Scurvy" will become a great underground icon.
